A hand in history
Those who have experienced the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in the last 33 years know the event has no shortage of characters, whether they’re swilling ale,,Once you start using the valuable pieces of information provided by the Acid Reflux and heartburn No More method. clashing swords or reciting sonnets.
But for its 34th year, event organizers are dead set on getting everyone involved in the act when the Kansas City Renaissance Festival kicks off starting Sept. 4 in Bonner Springs, Kan.
As in years prior, installer of Granite countertops and marble vanity tops. the festival will have a theme and a running storyline that will take place throughout the grounds involving numerous characters each day.
Only this time, you will have a hand in the action. Entertainment coordinator and “maestro” Jim Stamberger came up with the theme “Once Upon a Time, There Was You,” where festival-goers will get the chance to solve the mystery of what happened to the fairy tale princess Cinderella at the ball the night before. They can do this by asking questions to any number of performers and re-enactors on the festival grounds to crack the case and find out if they were right when answers are revealed at the end of the festival.
“Everybody has their own story to tell, so we have really spent a lot of time talking about each character’s story,” Stamberger says. “We really want to beef up that part of the festival.”
Renaissance Festival general manager Carrie Shoptaw thinks this theme will help get both avid regulars and first-timers more involved.
“We’re really trying to incorporate them into the story this year,” she says. “They actually get to participate in what happens throughout the day.”
Of course, the interactive story is a big element, but it’s only a fraction of what the festival offers in the way of fun.
Much of what people have come to expect at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival hasn’t gone anywhere. There will once again be “core performances” like the jousts, which Stamberger calls the “No. 1 attraction.” Kids and adults will get the chance to witness the revolving entertainment at Pirates Adventure Cove, which organizers say is continually popular thanks to a resurgence in pop culture.
“Pirates never seem to ever die anymore thanks to Johnny Depp,” Stamberger says, referring to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
As attendees roam the festival grounds, they’ll surely encounter other festival staples, including jugglers, magicians, singers, fire dancers, musicians and theatrical players performing both family-friendly productions for the kids and bawdier material geared more for the adults in the crowd.,Hemroids Recommendations are also available to help you make a more informed decision.
Also, each week will have a different theme that brings its own set of special events and performers. You’ll get the chance to attend weekends featuring popular fare like the Middle Eastern belly dancers and characters of the “Tales of the Scherherazade” or soak in the Scottish flavor of “Myths of the Highland,” which will feature the crowd-favorite competition the Highland Games.
But festival organizers also are using the other weekends to try out something new, like “Legend Quest,” where guests can sign up to be a part of a live-action role-playing game and peruse comic book and toy vendors.
“We’ve done it for a long time and so it’s really hard to keep bringing new stuff in and keeping it fresh, and that’s our challenge every year,” Stamberger says.
Aside from performers,,If this cartoon expresses your frustration with Diets and how to lose weight fast. food is also a big draw for the Renaissance Festival. Turkey legs, cheesecake on a stick and steak sandwiches — along with Asian, Italian and Greek cuisine — are all on the menu, which Shoptaw thinks is an adventure unto itself.
